Description

Starry Night Blessings is an oil painting has a night sky sparkling with stars and a luminous full moon shining down upon a yogi in a cave, who is meditating and sending blessings out to all beings. The cave is carved with animal images which along with real animals protect the cave. Inside the cave is also a luminous light to symbolize our inner light. The waters are turbulent, but we are protected and blessed. On the day I finished the painting, I woke up in the night and wrote the poem below.

Starry Night Blessings

Starry Night beckoning me,
Into your sparkling vastness,
Luminous Moon casting your great whiteness,
Lighting up the dark night,
Meditating yogi in ecstatic peace,
Emanating eternal light,
Reflecting as the moonlight,
Keeping the inner flame glowing,
Though outer waves and forces seem turbulent,
Know we are protected,
Guarded by benevolent beings,
And by our innermost in-dwelling spirit,
That, which is the supreme universal power,
That which is Love,
Universal Love.
